Irina Gershman

Irina Gershman, MD is a member of both Summit Health’s Family Medicine and Sleep Disorders Center teams. Dr. Gershman diagnoses and treats acute and chronic health conditions as well as sleep disorders. She also conducts annual well-visits and age- and patient-appropriate screenings.

Dr. Gershman pursued family medicine eager to provide patient-centered care and build longitudinal relationships that are so often developed between primary care doctors and their patients. Her interest in sleep medicine stemmed from her knowledge of how sleep can greatly affect a person’s quality of life.

Dr. Gershman believes that all patients should have a thorough understanding of their conditions, and therefore places emphasis on effective doctor-patient communication. She notes, “It’s important that at the end of a visit, my patient leaves knowing they have been heard, understood, and provided with enough information to make informed choices and decisions about their care.”

When not in the office, Dr. Gershman enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling to new places, visiting national parks, and attending live events like Broadway musicals, comedy shows, and hockey games.
