Meagan Thompson

Meagan Thompson, MSN, RN-BC, AGPCNP-C is a member of Summit Health’s Internal Medicine team. Ms. Thompson specializes in adult health and gerontological nursing, a specialty that focuses on promoting health maintenance and preventing hospital readmissions in older adults. Beyond internal medicine, Ms. Thompson has experience in obstetrics/gynecology, inpatient medicine, and working with patients receiving biological therapy and chemotherapy. She has obtained certifications in gerontological nursing and ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy.

Ms. Thompson pursued a career in health care to serve as an advocate for patients and to help teach them how to be advocates for themselves. “Educating patients on how to take control of their physical health and mental well-being is my top priority,” says Ms. Thompson.

In her free time, Ms. Thompson enjoys spending time with her husband and two young children serving the community as active members of their local church band. She also enjoys volunteering at local dog shelters.
