Richard Hannay, MD

R. Scott Hannay, MD, FACS, is the Chief of Trauma and Surgical Critical Care at the Piedmont Columbus Regional Midtown Campus. Dr. Hannay joined Piedmont Physicians Surgical Specialists in August 2001. He has held a wide variety of Medical Staff leadership positions including Trauma Medical Director, Chief of Surgical Critical Care, Chairman of Surgery, Chief of Surgery, and Chief of the Medical Staff. Dr. Hannay received his doctorate from the Medical College of Georgia and completed a General Surgery Residency at West Virginia University and completed a Fellowship in Surgical Critical Care at Emory University/Grady Memorial Hospital. Dr. Hannay is board certified in both Surgery and Surgical Critical Care. He is married and has two children.
