Everyone acts like Dr. Villadelgado is the greatest guy on earth but he was COMPLETELY mean to me while my 15 yr. old Siberian Husky was dying of kidney failure. He kept SCREAMING at me and wagging his finger at me because I was showing up for the dog's kidney flush procedure at the wrong time (he didn't tell me what times I could come) and because I kept asking for Frank to do the procedure. I was asking for Frank because none of the other technicians could do it without torturing the dog and making him scream and cry. I suggested letting this go and letting the 15 YEAR OLD dog die already but Dr. Villadelgado SCREAMED at me and said I wouldn't do that to a human and made fun of me for saying it and for complaining that if I tried to do the procedure myself at home the dog would bite me. Well, the dog really would've RIPPED MY ARM OFF and my situation was that I was by myself on the 3rd floor in a studio apartment in a building that didn't allow dogs and I didn't have a car and the taxi drivers HATED me because the dog was getting hair all over their cars and all of the tenants and the superintendent and the apartment building manager HATED me and were mad at me because the dog kept having diarrhea and vomiting and was urinating in the elevator and in the hallway and in the lobby and I was being threatened with eviction over this and the apartment building manager kept screaming at me. The dog was also waking me up several times every night in the middle of the night to go out because he wouldn't use wee wee pads. Anyhow, after about 10 months of putting up with Dr. Villadelgado SCREAMING at me and being COMPLETELY mean to me, the dog finally died and I was BY MYSELF on the 3rd floor in an apartment building and didn't have anyone to help me and Dr. Villadelgado wouldn't send anyone and wouldn't even keep his office open for an extra 15 min. so I could bring the body to him. I ended up having to take Sasha's body to someplace on the other side of Staten Island that was still open. I only continued with the kidney flush procedure for as much time as I did because it was the only thing that seemed to give the dog an energy boost and I didn't know what else to do for him but it was hard by then for the dog to get in and out of cars and he was afraid of the vets office and the procedure was upsetting him. The dog getting sick and dying was the most painful experience I've ever lived through in my entire life. Dr. Villadelgado who everyone else thinks is so perfect was MEAN and NOT HELPFUL at all. I'm giving him 2 stars instead of zero only because Frank (one of the technicians) was really, REALLY nice to my dog.

I wanted to like this guy, I really did. A friend recommended him and said he did everything at a fair price, which I really needed. But I just couldn't...Never mind the walk in clinic style and the 1 1/2 hour wait in a tiny office packed with dogs. It's fine and fun and my pup liked the interaction. I was even okay with the cost cutting of using contact cards, not computer programs, and old run down looking office. If he is nice, I told myself, and the services were great, then all of this would be worth it and it is because he charges so little like they say that he can;t afford high tech gadgets and nice office. But come on, he is loud and annoying, be it funny at times, and I get that he is very knowledgeable, but I couldn't get a word in. I had to push in to try and voice questions and concerns while he talked over he and grabbed my arm to get me to shut up while he made another joke. Then, I asked him for three specific vaccinaions, lyme, rabies, and distemper. As well as blood work and fecal. Come to find out, he was given an 8 in one vaccination without me being told as well as a bordatella (kennel cough) nose drop. It was all cheap, I get it. And the 8 in 1 is probably all they had because it was common, but TELL ME that. Don't just give it to my dog. And then the gall of giving him the bordatella without asking and then telling me that all dogs in New York should have it done?! I am the owner and I can make my own mind up about that. Money''s not the reason I didn't want them all, it was health. I don't believe in over vaccinating a dog and didn't appreciate not being told that my dog is being given things I didn't ask for. If this was a human child, it would be an outrage, and a whole drawn out issue, but because its a dog people think it's ok. It is NOT. And I will not be going back or recommending him. I would rather spend $80 more and wait in a nice office for 20 minutes and talk to a vet that will actually listen to me and take the time to hear my concerns and explain all that is being done to him. I feel used and even though the charge for the extra vac was dropped it won't change the fact that he was given medication I did not want him to be given. Ridiculous and I am absolutely outraged.

Honest man

worst place to take your pet
