Third World folks would feel right at home here. If you are from a country without electricity or indoor plumbing, this place will almost seem nice. No urine smell at all! Walls are paper thin for that "social" feel - you can hear your neighbors talking without them even having to raise their voice, and feel like you're right in the room with them when they argue or watch TV. Compared to some ghetto apartments, it's almost clean and safe. Some of the washing machines and dryers even work! You have to guess which ones, which is an exciting game when you only have enough change to do your laundry.
