Disappointment at Kneaded Pleasures
I tried something new today...which I am sorry of after a disappointing sandwich at Kneaded Pleasures on FarWest. Should have just gone to get another burger across the street.Heavenly gelato!
I am so excited to have discovered this wonderful little place! The sandwiches and salads are made with fresh ingredients and you get a lot for your money too. The Gelato though is the shining star of Kneaded Pleasures! I definitely recommend all flavors, which are made on site daily, esp the chocolate hazelnut--it melts in your mouth! The service there is excellent, and they are always willing to let you try samples of the gelato--there are so many to choose from. Head on down to Kneaded Pleasures--it is worth it!This place is great!!
I live near Kneaded Pleasures and think it is a fantastic neighborhood place!! The sandwiches are great, and I highly recommend the gelato which is much more authentic than what you will find at Whole Foods or even Teo. The service is very attentive considering it is a walk-up type restaurant. The free Wi-Fi is also a convient ammenity!Breakfast Tacos are a dissapointment
I usually go around to corner and buy my tacos from the El Arroyo stand which are only a buck a piece and worth it. This morning I stopped by Kneaded Pleasures to give their tacos a shot. They were $1.67 and a little extra to add cheese. Comparable to Taco Shack in price. They skimped on the eggs and had one piece of bacon and a small amount of cheese on a run of the mill tortilla. Poor value and I'm still hungry. Coffee was average as well. I would like this place to make it since it is convenient but some people want protein in their breakfast and not just bagels and pastries. It wouldn't be that hard to make a good taco. Las Salsas makes good breakfast tacos but they don't open up early enough.Great Sandwiches
I've been here several times - although its usually around lunch time, and the place does get pretty packed..they still provide patience and nice service.Just about the worst restaurant experience EVER!
I'm surprsied by the positive reviews I've seen on citysearch about this place. My experiences there have definitely NOT been positive. The "last straw" for me and this restaurant came earlier this week on 9/16/07. It was very crowded, but only one of their two registers was in use. The order-taker did not understand English very well. She was very confused when I told her I wanted a reuben sandwich with just a little saurkraut. "A little saurkraut" was a completely foreign concept to her. She tried to tell the cooks what I wanted, but since they were joking around and not paying attention anyway, they missed what she said. Needless to say, my reuben came out with *no* saurkraut (STRIKE ONE). I sent the sandwich back and reminded her I wanted *a little* saurkraut, not *no* saurkraut. She took the sandwich back to the cooks. They held it for several minutes then returned it to me again with *no* saurkraut! (STRIKE TWO) To make a long story short (too late), I sent the sandwich back. Guess what? On the third and final time this sandwich left their kitchen, it came out WITH NO SAURKRAUT! (STRIKE THREE!!) By this time, I was pretty upset, so I asked to see the manager. Since the girl who was taking orders had to leave her station to go find the manager, orders leaving the kitchen piled up since she couldn't call out people's numbers. There were also other diners waiting to order, so they had to wait longer too. Here's a sidebar - at most restaurants I know of, the manager is out front during the lunch rush - not in the back doing who-knows-what. Anyway, the manager finally appeared after 3-5 minutes of more waiting. In a somewhat confrontational tone he asked me what the problem was. I told him what I just told you, and his response was - "well, do you want saurkraut or not?" I'm hoping you know what my answer was. I got a refund, left the restaurant, and will NEVER go there again. Avoid Kneaded Pleasures like you'd avoid the plague. I wish I could give them 0 stars.Great place for lunch
This is a great place for lunch. Its great healthy meals. There sandwiches are amazing as are there baked potatoes and soup. Its great friendly and quick service. They have wifi internet so thats a plus. They have this great art work around the restruant of popular places in austin like town lake and have famous movie stars through out the place.Good Food, Indifferent Service
Have you ever had the sense that a place is more focused on the tasks required for providing customer service than the spirit of customer service?Worldwide > United States > Austin, TX > Restaurants
