Eye Doctor

Dr. Jason Gilbert is an excellent ophthalmologist & eye surgeon. His office has new state of the art medical equipment used for eye surgery. Office surgeries for cataracts, glaucoma. Dr. Jason Gilbert and his staff are nice friendly and courteous always calls to cheerfully remind you of an upcoming appointment. The office rooms are meticulously clean and the waiting room has ample seating and up to date reading materials. The office is accessible by bus located on a major bus route or car with underground parking garage. Eye exams are thorough. Appointments are prompt. Dr. Gilbert performs eye surgery on any one from young to old. Dr. Gilbert has won many medical awards for his excellent surgical skills.

He is very arrogant. Especially if you take your kid and want ask questions on his behalf the responses are very turse making sure to let you know he does not like it.

Excellent Ophthalmologist

Hi, everyone. Dr. Jason M Gilbert is an excellent Ophthalmologist. Treats eye diseases very well. He lacks some managerial skills. Think twice before you apply to any job vacation there. Technicians are very nice there. At least look nice. I do not know how skillful they are. You have to be an Ophthalmologist to work there as an ophthalmic technician. If you are from outside the US, please save your self esteem.

Dr. Jerk

This Dr. is very condescending and comes off very patronizing. His staff is adequate enough, but doesn't balance out his social awkwardness. If you want to subject yourself/family members to this type of unprofessionalism, don't say you weren't warned. If you read this Jason, I hope you get a clue someday and wake up - you're just an eye doctor.

Needs Better People Skills

I am a long time patient of Dr. Gilbert. He is a very good doctor - and that's the only reason I haven't left him - because he does have a bit of a personality problem.

He can act curt if you dare to question what he tells you. So, I have to agree with the other posters who say he can be patronizing and arrogant.

Of course, I rather have doctors who are sure of themselves than doctors who aren't, but Dr. GIlbert may think a little too highly of himself.

Find Somebody Else

I went to see Dr Gilbert because he was the closes dr i could access by public transportation. I have a medical condition that was identified by my previous ophthalmologist and I wanted to follow up on it with Dr Gilbert.

Pros

*The office easy to locate

*Fast at scheduling appointments

Cons

*Dr Gilbert is arrogant, condescending and therefore not highly skilled. I told him the issue i had and what tests my previous Op did to find it. He refused to do the test, sent me for an MRI (thinking I had cancer, he was wrong) and then just gave up.

*Told me he would follow up on my test results, never did

*Rushed my exam, not talking to me or acknowledging what other drs (who were more successful) did to find results

Conclusion

If you don't care that he is arrogant, doesn't know what he's doing, won't acknowledge you as a patient and will have you pay a lot of money for unnecessary tests, this is your guy. This was my experience. It seems like his years of experience have caused him

Complete faith in Dr. Gilbert

Dr. Gilbert has taken wonderful care of my family, including very successful surgery on my aunt which enabled her to continue to drive.

Great Exam

Dr. Gilbert found an issue with bloodflow in my retina and increased my aspirin. I had a very complete exam and was very impressed.
