I started working with Scotia Personnel in October 2017. After hearing Marilyn speak at my college, I knew this was a company I wanted to partner with. At first contact, they helped me decide on what country I wanted to go to, sending me heaps of information about the destinations. When I decided to go to Italy, Scotia Personnel talked me through the process of interviewing with families. They checked in before the interviews and we discussed how I should present myself, key points about the family to take note of. Also, after each interview, they called again and we talked about what went well, what I liked and didn't like about the families, and what the next step would be. When a family and I decided on each other, Scotia Personnel helped me with all of the legal paperwork, signing the contracts, and applying for a visa. I can honestly say that without the help of Richelle, I wouldn't have been able to navigate the Visa process. Once I got to Italy, Scotia Personnel checked in on me several times throughout my 10-month stay, and ensured I had a smooth and positive experience! Scotia Personnel is a phenomenal company to work with. They are a highly organized and professional group of individuals who guide you through each and every step of the process to go abroad. Scotia Personnel patiently answers every question asked of them quickly and thoroughly. Throughout my entire experience with this illustrious company so far, Marilyn and her staff have been nothing but kind and informative. They were with me every step of the way, from picking a country, to interviewing with families, going to Italy, and returning home from my placement abroad. I highly recommend working with Scotia Personnel, and am looking forward to any future dealings I have with them!

I went to England to work at a kids summer camp as a camp coach, with the help from Scotia personal. The camp had international and local kids, some learnt English and did activities and some did activities all day. We also had excursions every Wednesday and some Saturdays where I was paid to go look at castles and tour London with the kids; I even got paid to go to a theme park! I made a ton of friends - both Canadian and English- and experienced cultures from around the world through the kids I took care of. On my days off I travelled the uk with newly made friends, exploring places like the white cliffs of Dover, London, Canterbury, and beaches where I swam in the sea. I definitely plan on going back next summer!

Why being an Au Pair was the best experience of my life. Well, it’s not complicated if you like to travel, discover and have fun, that’s the best way to do it! I met extraordinary people from all around the world. It give me the chance to step back and see who I really wanted to be, learning about enjoying every moment of my life and seeing only the positive in everything. Leaving your comfort zone, families and friends to work in another country can be daunting but it’s worth it. The program organized all the necessary documents and arrangements and made it so easy for me. I spent one year in California with an amazing family caring for three little girls, twins of two years old and the oldest was four. My Host’s made me feel welcome and like a part of their family from the beginning. Together we traveled to Hawaii, San Francisco, Disneyland and France. Looking after the children both at home and on these vacations was challenging and rewarding. Kids can teach you so many things without knowing it, they are always living in the present. They teach you how to relax by doing finger painting or blowing bubbles in the backyard. They have so much imagination and can be so refreshing, they bring back the best memories of our childhood. After completing my year I felt extremely proud of my accomplishments. It was an excellent experience for personal growth. I am now studying Fashion at the University of Quebec in Montreal and attribute some of my success to the knowledge and experience i gained as an Au Pair. This experience changed my life and I would recommend it to anyone.

Back in 2013-2014 I was an Au Pair in England though the agency. They helped me every step of the way and made getting a job I loved very easy. My wife and I were apprehensive when our oldest child announced that he was planning to work in the UK immediately following graduation from college. He was living at home and attending school at the time and the idea of him being out on his own was difficult enough to grasp but to do so 4,000 kilometers away on another continent immediately triggered every paternal and maternal worry we had. He told us not to worry as he wasn't doing this completely on his own, he had someone helping him with all the details, Scotia Personnel. I immediately googled Scotia Personnel and was somewhat relieved to find out the fact that they have been providing their services for over thirty years, that they have partnerships internationally and they promote the idea that working abroad is an opportunity for personal growth. That word "opportunity" struck a chord with us. Most of my generation left school and immediately entered the workforce.20 years later a lot of us look back and wonder where the time went and why we were no closer to having such an opportunity for travel and adventure. Tour buses are full of 80 year olds finally fulfilling this dream but twice as many never make it on the bus. Here was the opportunity to turn the tables. Travel while you're young, turn inexperience into experience, make your story from the beginning. We were not so apprehensive at this point, in fact we were jealous. We really missed him that first year but looked forward to his weekly Skype calls to share with us what he was experiencing. Yes I mentioned that "first year" because he was having such a great experience he managed to extend his employment another year. Our twin daughters were soon graduating college themselves and both decided to follow in their brothers footsteps and sign up for their own personal experiences working abroad.I would wholeheartedly endorse anyone thinking of signing up with Scotia Personnel. I say go for it as you have everything to gain! I believe such work and travel experiences are not a frivolous escape from adulthood but a long term personal investment sure to deliver dividends throughout one's life. Experiencing all three of our children's adventures inspired us to travel more as well. At one point this past summer we were on four separate continents texting with one another.

I wanted to take a minute to write about my experience au pairing in Spain with the help of Scotia Personnel. I left for Madrid at the end of August in 2010, after having decided on Spain and au pairing after speaking with the staff at Scotia Personnel. I was really ecstatic to have found an economically savvy way to live extensively abroad. The first months in Spain were incredibly rewarding and challenging at time, as is the case with anything new. I took language classes, explored the city and made many friends (many au pairs, as nearly all au pairs are eager to meet up and as such, getting to know people is not a problem). In November, I decided to switch to another au pair family as I was interested in au pairing with a different age range. I continue to stay in contact with my second family. The mother regularly emails me photos of the girls and we exchange Christmas gifts by mail, she also offered to pay for my flight back to Spain should I ever want to au pair for the family again! Around the same time, I met Alberto, who just so happens to be my husband as of last November! Had I not au paired in Spain, my life today would be totally different, having never met many of my very close friends, new families or husband. Nor would I be able to speak the high level of Spanish I do. As a result of my time in Spain, I have also been able to expand my resume as a child care professional, tutor and ESL teacher. Obviously, I recommend au pairing with Scotia Personnel to anyone who is looking to travel!

Early 2012 after much thought and deliberation I finally mustered up the courage to call Marilyn from Scotia Personnel Ltd. And I haven't regretted it to this day since. I wanted a change in my life and I remembered one of my classes I took at Algonquin College, Marilyn came and talked to the class about the program, and what it entailed, and the different work programs there that could help suit each individual to what they are looking for. When I called up Marilyn to discuss possibly work opportunity she was so supportive and attentive. Marilyn and her amazing team helped me tremendously so that I could get an interview, and to help get me started on the fantastic adventure that soon awaited me. Walking into the interview I was a bundle of nerves not knowing what to expect, but my worries were soon diminished talking to Marilyn about the wonderful opportunity to work abroad in Italy teaching children how to speak English in an upbeat summer camp. I had an amazing time and I couldn't have made it up even if I tried. I flown into Nice, France, and enjoyed a couple days there on my own before heading to Italy to begin Orientation and training for the camp. Orientation was a week and in that week I met the most incredible people from all over. The training was well organized for the amount of tutors that were there and at the end they placed me in the north of Italy, so beautiful. I was there with 5 other tutors teaching children from the age's of 9-12. I learned a lot about my self through that whole experience, and if it weren't for Marilyn and her hard working team it never would have happened!

Great Summer Experience! I did a kid's summer camp as a camp leader in the UK through Scotia Personnel and had a summer of a lifetime! This was my first summer away from home but I met young people from all over the world including people from Australia, New Zealand and Europe. Scotia Personnel Ltd changed my life!! Thanks to Scotia Personnel I had THE best year of my life! They provided me with the opportunity to live just outside of New York City for a year, travel and go to school. I was an Au Pair with a super amazing family that I created a life-long bond with. The help and direction that Scotia Personnel provided went above and beyond! All of the staff really amazing, answered all of my questions, were super easy to get a hold of and help me with every single step of the process.
