Faina Furman, NP

Since I was little, I always enjoyed playing doctor. I had a "hospital" full of dolls which I treated for ear infections, flu and stomach pain. Throughout my high school years, I dreamt to find a field of work where I could touch people's souls and leave there warm prints. I dreamt I could change their lives for the better, taking their pain away. My dream came true when I became a nurse practitioner. During my undergraduate clinical study at Loyola University of Chicago, in my obstetrics/gynecology rotation I fell in love with women's health from the first sight. I am fortunate to have been practicing for the last 17 years in women's health and 10 years in adult health. I believe that a woman plays a significant role in the world, because healthy women create healthy families, and healthy families create a healthy planet. My philosophy of care "Listen to your patient". My areas of special interests are infertility, prenatal care, prevention of unplanned pregnancies among teenagers, and treatment of postmenopausal symptoms, including depression and anxiety. Outside of work, I enjoy traveling the world and spending time with my family. I enjoy fine art and theatre, and I love singing and listening to music.
