Kathryn M. Butterly, NP, Family Medicine Advanced Nurse Practitioner

Ms. Katheryn Butterly is an advanced nurse practitioner in Family Medicine at the University of Vermont Medical Center in Hinesburg. Frequently caring for patients suffering from anxiety, depression, hypertension and diabetes, she believes in a holistic approach to care 

She feels that practicing primary care medicine she has the opportunity to provide patient-centered, comprehensive, team-based, coordinated, accessible, care that is focused on what is best for the patient overall. She hopes all her patients feel their concerns are listened to and she hopes that they know she is working diligently to provide them the best care. 

Ms. Butterly chose the Primary Care for a few reasons. Her clinical interests include preventive care and health promotion, chronic disease management, mental health, women's health, and population health. She is able to care for patients with additional special procedures which include Pap smears, skin biopsies, skin tag removal, laceration repair, cryotherapy and joint injections. “The human mind and body is a fascinating system and medicine is ever evolving to better our care. It is very rewarding to collaborate with patients to either prevent disease or overcome an obstacle so they can thrive.”
