Jeana C. Smith, CNM

Born and raised in Colorado’s Grand Valley, Jeana’s call toward midwifery began when she was 12 years old and she witnessed her sister emerge from her mother's body. That moment sparked a passion and fascination for all things birth. Jeana earned her undergraduate degree in nursing from Colorado Mesa University in Grand Junction. She spent the next six years working as a Labor & Delivery nurse at St. Mary’s Medical Center. She then decided to pursue midwifery and a Master of Science in Nursing at Frontier Nursing University in Hyden, Kentucky. As a board-certified nurse midwife, Jeana’s passion turned into a purpose. As a certified nurse midwife Jeana is an advocate of shared decision making as a key component in patient centered healthcare."I love women, and because I love women, there is no role more honorable and rewarding than the role of your midwife in the most transformative time in your life."Jeana has been married for more than 27 years and has four children of her own. When not working, she enjoys spending time hanging out with her family and cooking.
