First Command District Advisor - George Harris

George Harris joined First Command Financial Services as a Financial Advisor in January 2015, following a 32-year career in the United States Army, where he attained the rank of Major General. During his time in the military, George served as an Assistant Deputy to the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Acquisitions, Logistics and Technology at the Pentagon. George understands the challenges and opportunities associated with life in the military and is committed to helping service members and their families get their financial lives squared away.

George has a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, from the United States Military Academy and a Master’s degree in Business Administration in Comptrollership from Syracuse University and the Army War College with a Master's of Strategic Studies degree. He holds Series 6, 63, 65 and 26 securities licenses plus life and health insurance licenses in Alaska, Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Florida, Hawaii, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington, Wisconsin.

Active in his community, George is a member of the Knights of Columbus, Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Association of the United States Army and the Leavenworth Investors Club; and in his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, grandkids and watching the local area sports teams.
