<p class="paragraph">Christopher Cioffi, APN is a member of the Summit Health Family Medicine team. Mr. Cioffi practices general medicine, treating and caring for patients from infancy through adulthood.&nbsp;He has clinical interest in chronic care and family-centered care management.

Mr. Cioffi treats each patient as if they are a member of his own family, providing them the tools and resources they need to reach their health and wellness goals. He comes from a family of health care providers. His father is a retired&nbsp;high-risk&nbsp;maternal-fetal medicine doctor and his mother is a wound care nurse in East Orange. “My sister,&nbsp;aunt,&nbsp;and cousin are nurses as well, so my medical background runs strong. But it was the events of 9/11 that really sparked my interest in pursuing medicine,” he says. “I went&nbsp;into&nbsp;NYC&nbsp;city about&nbsp;72 hours&nbsp;after the trade center collapsed and volunteered at the Javits Center,&nbsp;helping&nbsp;families&nbsp;find information about missing loved ones&nbsp;and&nbsp;providing assistance&nbsp;to&nbsp;rescue workers.”&nbsp;

After college,&nbsp;Mr. Cioffi began in the emergency room/critical care setting as a patient care technician and worked his way up to a nurse practitioner.&nbsp;He is a federally licensed medical examiner with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and can perform Commercial Driver’s License and Department of Transportation physical exams.&nbsp;&nbsp;

When not caring for patients, Mr. Cioffi enjoys spending&nbsp;time with his wife and two&nbsp;children. He also enjoys&nbsp;camping, hiking, fishing,&nbsp;and woodworking.&nbsp;He serves on the environmental commission in his community and volunteers at local health fairs.
