Thomas Ken Takayama, M.D.

Dr. Takayama is an expert in urologic cancer surgery. He routinely performs daVinci robot-assisted laparoscopic radical prostatectomy for prostate cancer and laparoscopic surgery including radiofrequency-ablation for kidney cancer. He has also won numerous awards to study prostate cancer (National Institutes of Health, Department of Defense, American Cancer Society grants).Dr. Takayama did his surgical residency at the University of Massachusetts, and then moved on to do a urology residency and urologic oncology fellowship at the University of Washington. He is a former Associate Professor of Urology at the University of Washington School of Medicine, where he served as faculty for over 15 years. He is a Board Certified member of the American Urological Association, Seattle Surgical Society and Society of Urologic Oncology. He joined the Washington Urology Associates family in April 2010.
