Maritza Cajiao

Ever since I was a child I have been amazed by the process of creating life. From conception to birth, I never cease to be amazed by this physiological process, so natural but at the same time so unique for each expectant parent. I was born and raised in Colombia and speak both English and Spanish. My first career was as a paramedic and I practiced for several years. When I came to the U.S., I decided to pursue my passion for birth work and become a doula. I trained and certified through Big Belly Services. I enjoy working with first-time parents, parents with multiple children, clients seeking a vaginal birth after cesarean (VBAC), people interested in unmedicated birth as well as those who know they want to use pain medication in their birth experience. I have specialized training in the rebozo, TENS unit, aromatherapy, and as a childbirth educator. I also have two daughters of my own. No matter what your background or story, I love to help parents to feel respected, heard and safe.
