I am a wife and mother of 2 beautiful daughters. I remember so clearly the day both of my daughters were born. From that day forward, they have given more to my life than I could ever say. I know what a life changing event birth is. I am driven to help mothers have a positive, joyful, calm birth experience. I strongly believe that no one deserves to be judged and everyone deserves respect. I believe every woman, or woman and partner, has the basic right to make their own choices in childbirth. Also, to have a positive, safe, informed birth. I value the right to make your own decisions on how you see the birth of your child. Whether that is having a natural birth, (without interventions if possible) or wanting interventions for pain. I know the importance of volunteering and have a compassion for underprivileged children. My love for children and knowing the experience of giving birth led me to training for doula work. I went to Bastyr University Simkin Center. I am currently working on a dual certification as a Birth Doula with DONA International and the local organization PALS (Pacific Association of Labor Support). I have a strong desire to help other women achieve a positive, empowering, birth experience. When I learned about the role of a doula, I knew this was what I wanted to do.
