David L. Townsend, MD

Dr. Townsend earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Georgia and his medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Wake Forest University, and is Board Certified in Internal Medicine.Dr. Townsend has been practicing medicine for 12 years. He is also an Associate Professor of Medicine involved in the education of medical students and residents. Prior to joining Piedmont Hawthorne, Dr. Townsend practice with Hawthorne Medical Associates, and also practiced and taught Internal Medicine at Wake Forest University,Dr. Townsend is blessed with a beautiful wife and four amazing children. In addition to spending time with his family, he has an interest in nutrition and fitness and enjoys sports and working out. He is an active member at Watkinsville First Baptist Church. Dr. Townsend is now accepting new patients and welcomes most major insurance plans.
