Abbott Jeffrey M., DO

Jeffrey M. Abbott, D.O., is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon who brings a high level of experience and skill to the staff. He performs virtually all types of orthopedic procedures with an emphasis in adult reconstructive surgery (hips and knees). Prior to joining Wheeling Hospital, Dr. Abbott practiced at Meadville Medical Center (MMC) in Pennsylvania. While there, he also served as an adjunct clinical assistant professor for orthopedic surgery through a partnership between MMC and Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Abbott served as an intern and later as an orthopedic surgery resident at Pinnacle Health, Harrisburg, Pa., and completed his adult reconstructive surgery fellowship at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh. He also has a master’s degree in physical therapy, and before becoming a surgeon. Dr. Abbott earned a bachelor of science degree in health services at Duquesne University, where he later received his physical therapy master’s degree. He earned his doctorate in osteopathic medicine from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine.
