Erin Marie Caruso, APN

As a board certified Acute Care Nurse Practitioner and a licensed Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) in the state of New Jersey, I am trained to treat patients with complex acute, critical, and chronic health conditions. As an Internal Medicine Hospitalist APN, my practice is focused on the acute inpatient setting. I am responsible for assessing, diagnosing, counseling, and treating patients from admission to discharge. I work collaboratively with specialty consultants, nursing, and ancillary staff to provide quality care to my patients with a goal on improving outcomes. In addition to treating medical conditions, I integrate a nursing care focus into my interactions with patients and families in hopes to improve patient satisfaction. I strive to effectively communicate and provide education at every teachable moment so that patients can be active participants in their overall care plan. It is very important to me that my patients have continuity of care as they are discharged into the outpatient setting, which is why I outline a very clear follow-up plan with each patient to help facilitate the exchange of information with providers in the community.
