Luke's has best Chicago Style hotdogs in the west!
If anyone has read my Johnnie's pizza review, this is the same way I feel about Luke's. They are barely noticeable when you pass them but I suppose if they were more noticeable they'd be way too busy!...

Best Sandwich in Phoenix
This place is great if you want to indulge like you were 22 again. I recommend the suicide as I call it - Italian beef sammy with Italian sausage and cheese. If you don't want to play Russian roulette with your heart, just the Italian beef and cheese or Italian beef solo will make your mouth happy.

Why did they ruin a good place
If someone had asked me a few months ago where to get the best Italian beef or sausage in Phoenix, I would have directed them to Lukes on Indian School & 16th Street. But things have changed. I typically try to stop in every 2 weeks or so & the last 5 trips have been pretty bad. The beef which used to be great is more of a beef scrap, the bell peppers (which you used to get a lot of) has been reduced to a few meager strips of over stewed goo. I kept returning because I thought it was just a one time accident. I dont know if the place was sold recently or the owners are planning on selling that corner soon, but write this place off.

LUKE'S IS THE BOMB...IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR THE BEST CHICAGO STYLE FOOD IN PHOENIX... THIS IS WHERE IT IS AT! I BELIEVE THAT IT WAS EVEN RATED "BEST OF PHOENIX" AND ANYONE WHO IS ANYONE KNOWS IT...I KNOW THIS CLEARLY BECAUSE I EAT THERE AT LEAST ONCE A WEEK AND THEIR GREEN PEPPER ARE ALWAYS FIRM, THE MUSTARD IS SPICY, AND THE FRIES ARE ALWAYS PERKY JUST AS THEY ARE IN CHICAGO! I OUGHT TO KNOW BECAUSE I WAS BORN AND RAISED IN CHICAGO! ANYONE ELSE JUST DOESN'T HAVE A PROPER POINT OF REFERENCE...OH WELL, THEIR LOSS!
