Anita Petruzzelli, MD

Anita Petruzzelli, MD, is the owner and medical director of BodyLogicMD of Hartford in Glastonbury, Connecticut. She is an integrative medicine specialist who focuses on empowering her patients to take care of their bodies and minds by embracing healthy lifestyles.
At BodyLogicMD of Hartford, her goal is to help patients achieve optimal health through structured fitness programs, nutritional guidance, and hormonal balance using bioidentical hormone replacement therapy. Dr. Petruzzelli aims to help women and men resolve their symptoms of menopause and andropause, including weight gain, sexual dysfunction, declining energy levels, depression, and stress.
Dr. Petruzzelli is board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a member of the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine. She is also a certified Reiki practitioner and takes a holistic approach to care. She believes that by focusing on the whole person, including mind and spirit, people can enjoy a better, healthier existence. Dr. Petruzzelli was also inspired by the Women's Health Initiative (WHI) study and wanted to offer her patients alternative treatments to traditional hormone replacement therapy.
After completing her undergraduate education at Fairfield University in Connecticut, Dr. Petruzzelli attended medical school at George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences in Washington, DC. She interned in general surgery at Waterbury Hospital in Waterbury, Connecticut, and completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center in Hartford, Connecticut. Dr. Petruzzelli has worked as an OB/GYN for over 20 years, most recently at the Center for Women's Health and Midwifery in New Haven, Connecticut, as a hospitalist.
Formerly a competitive bodybuilder, Dr. Petruzzelli understands the importance of physical fitness and sound nutrition. She continues to live an active lifestyle and stresses the importance of mind-body interaction through her daily meditation practice, where she is a student and teacher at Odiyana Buddhist Center in Glastonbury, Connecticut. Dr. Petruzzelli’s commitment to education and her years of experience in integrative medicine have made her an expert in her field.
