The world’s most technologically advanced hearing aid was born from a father’s promise to his hearing impaired daughter. This promise embarked Sam Thomasson on a remarkable journey that became Zounds Hearing. Sam’s determination to build the perfect hearing aid produced 57 patents, eliminating background noise, improving sound quality, reducing feedback, and much more. Driving this journey was the promise he made to his daughter Kate. Sam saw the frustration Kate was having with her traditional hearing aids, affecting her speech, capacity to hear in a noisy environment, and even her ability to hug. Sam, an accomplished electrical engineer, vowed to create a hearing aid to solve the problems.
