In 1998, EMR acquired MS Consulting, which had developed a system for the process manufacturing industry, known as ProcessPro. At that time, ProcessPro was built onto the SBT Accounting platform that EMR had been working in and supporting for over a decade; the merger was a perfect fit. Under the new business name, ProcessPro, the company went national and started to attack aggressive growth plans. All of this lead to a market focus where they began working exclusively with process manufacturers that blended or mixed ingredients to make their products, and required tight restraints for lot tracking and quality controls.
