Summa Akron City Hospital Emergency Room

Summa Akron City Hospital's emergency department is one of the largest and advanced EDs in the region.

With nearly 100,000 square feet, the emergency department is well-suited to meet the most complex emergency cases in the region. Built in phases, the emergency department now has 76 beds, 10 triage rooms and a 9,100 square foot ambulance bay that can serve 12 ambulances at one time.

Summa Akron City Hospital is a Level 1 Trauma Center, a Certified Chest Pain Center and a Certified Stroke Center. The hospital serves as the tertiary transfer center for all Summa facilities. With more than 60 patients admitted to the hospital through the ED each day, the emergency department at Summa Akron City Hospital and its 46 physicians and nearly 150 medical staff are ready to meet your healthcare needs.
