Susan G. Komen San Diego

In 1995, a group of passionate, committed health educators and breast cancer survivors did more than just imagine. They acted by founding the San Diego Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure®. Since its inception in 1995, Komen San Diego has awarded grants totaling more than $9 million dollars to local organizations that have made valuable contributions to breast cancer diagnostics, treatment, education, screening and patient support.

Through events and donations, Susan G. Komen for the Cure® is able to bring funding and hope to the fight against breast cancer. Each year the Komen Race for the Cure®, 5k, and the Breast Cancer 3Day®, raise significant funds and awareness for breast cancer, celebrating breast cancer survivor-ship and honoring those who have lost their battle with the disease.
