Now you really have three options at this point, buy a steam vacuum, rent a steam cleaner or hire a professional firm to do the work. The last option is generally your best chance of getting the carpet back to looking almost new, but will be expensive and require regular visits. It will also mean you need to take the day off, trust a tradesman or pay extra for an out-of-hours service.
