Description: I offer a unique blend of longevity as a therapist as well as an integration of the latest trends in treatment. My own life experiences have included several challenging medical and family issues. Learning to deal with these effectively has expanded my awareness on many levels and has made me a more compassionate and creative therapist. I am very comfortable working with children, adolescents, families and stepfamilies, single adults, married couples and committed partners, and seniors. I enjoy helping people with anxiety, depression, alcohol & substance use and abuse issues, and forensic areas such as custody, visitation, and criminal matters. I utilize a directive eclectic style within a cognitive behavioral approach, frequently asking patients for feedback so I know how we are proceeding. My diverse professional background has included working in psychiatric hospitals, college settings, community mental health, and educational and school programs. I have worked the longest in a small group private practice setting in New Castle County, Delaware.
