Powis Contracting, Inc. was originally founded in June of 2000 as Powis Excavating Contracting. It became incorporated in September of 2007. The founder of the company is Jeff Powis. Jeff was a pipeline inspector, equipment operator, and a laborer before he went into business for himself. He worked very hard to achieve his goal of owning his own business. Although he was in his early twenties when he started his goal as a young entrepreneur, he was able to reach this achievement without anyone's assistance. He is a perfect example of starting from nothing and making it into something. Powis Contracting, Inc. is a fully insured and respectable business. It is affiliated with Fort Drum, Cadence Contract Services, Alutiiq Global Solutions, Lawman Heating, Northern Affordable Housing, Rural Development, Town of Rutland, Watertown Housing Authority, GYMO Engineering, and other business affiliations. As for experience they have: built new stick built homes, garages, pole barns, foundations, additions, remodeling, roofs, steel buildings, windows, septics, driveways, land-clearing, bridges, and commercial and residential work of all kinds.
