About Our Doctors:

A native of California, Dr. John Mooney was born in Los Angeles. He graduated as a Doctor of Chiropractic in 1982. Mooney says ” I enjoy helping people with muscular skeletal problems. My father-in-law was a chiropractor for over 50 years.” John has had plenty of inspiration with a father- in-law and brother-in-law in the field! He since has become a Qualified Medical Examiner (QME) and a Chiropractic Orthopedist, as well.

Dr. Mooney and his wife, Ellen, have lived in El Dorado County for over 39 years; moving here because they felt it was a great place to raise their two children. Matt, their oldest, is a history professor in Santa Barbara and their youngest son, Brent, is a chiropractor and joined his fathers practice here at Premier Healthcare. Ellen is very busy herself! She breeds black Andalusian horses. The Mooney’s also share their home with Sophie, their border collie, and Frankie their cat.

What is Dr. Mooney’s favorite ways to relax? He enjoys reading, playing tennis and going to the movies. Dr. Mooney also enjoys going the the Kings games “when they are winning.”

A native of California, Brent Mooney was born in Orange County. He was 7 when he and his family moved to the Placerville area. His grandfather, Dr. Elbert Landis – a chiropractor for nearly 60 years – purchased Placerville Chiropractic and Sports Clinic in 1983. Both Dr. Landis, his son, Al, and son-in-law, John Mooney – all chiropractors – decided to open the clinic together.

Brent attended Concordia Irvine in 1999 earning a BA in Psychology and Life Chiropractic College West which produced a degree in Chiropractic in 2003.

He found inspiration in the idea of helping people not only recover from their conditions, but helping them become as healthy as possible through ProAdjuster chiropractic, healthy eating and lifestyle and nutritional supplements.

When not practicing chiropractic, Brent’s favorite way to relax is reading and watching movies.

Dr. Palmer, a native of California attended Los Angeles College of Chiropractic, graduating in 1980. He moved from Southern California to the San Francisco Bay area where he practiced for 20 years. Currently, John and his wife, Blair, live in Roseville, CA and have resided there since 2001.

When asked what inspired him to become a Chiropractor he said, ” A close friend was saved from needing surgery by chiropractic.”

Palmer relaxes by jogging and golfing. You just might see him at a local golf course practicing his swing on his lunch break!

Interesting factoid: John Palmer played college baseball at U.C. Irvine.
