Both Hands Clapping Aikido

Both Hands Clapping Zen Aikido classes combine the serenity and stillness of Zen with the power, grace and beauty of Aikido. You may not realize that Aikido is the world's premier multiple-attacker self-defense. Through continuous motion, an Aikidoist weaves in among however many attackers - 2, 3, 4 and more, using the attackers' energies in one throw after another - it is a beautiful thing to watch. But multiple-attacker self-defense is only possible with a still mind. That is why we combine zazen (seated Zen meditation) and Aikido training into one class - Zen for the mind, Aikido for the body.

This class is suitable for both men and women of all ages. Although Zen Aikido is an adults oriented program, it may be suitable for mature teens. If you have any questions, it is best to drop by before a class, where you can observe it and later ask questions.

Classes enroll only four times a year. The Summer enrollment is now open through the end of May. Don't delay!
