Susan Kraushaar and Professional Appraisal Associates are actually one of the BEST and MOST ACCURATE Appraisal Firms in Santa Barbara County, since they are truly ethical and fair, and will not succumb to borrower pressure to over-inflate property values just to make a loan work. Hitting the borrower value target is unfair to all of us, since only one complaining individual gets special treatment, and the remainder of us who are underwater still cannot refinance. I wish my house is worth more than it was in 2006 as well, but unfortunately it simply is just not. Don't kill the messenger, since an Appraiser merely reports on the most current value as of the effective date of appraisal, and cannot reverse the effects of the worst Real Estate and world-wide economic downturn since the Great Depression.

Susan Kraushaar is a TERRIBLE and INCOMPETENT appraiser. She missed an entire bedroom on our property and would not admit it until the bank pushed her to revise her appraisal. Susan Kraushaar even provided an incorrect sketch of our property in her appraisal. Egregious and unacceptable mistakes. If your bank assigns Professional Appraisal Associates (Solvang, CA), DEMAND that they assign another firm which is actually "professional" and capable.
