Graham Hurvitz, MD

Graham Hurvitz, MD is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon and sports medicine physician who delivers advanced treatment and compassionate care to the community of Santa Barbara, California. A founding member of Ryu Hurvitz Orthopedic Clinic, Dr. Hurvitz treats people of all ages with a warm, welcoming, and supportive experience, regardless of the complexity of their injury or condition.
In addition to his specialty in arthritis-related conditions of the knee, hip, and shoulder joints, Dr. Hurvitz treats fractures, foot and ankle disorders, and all types of sports injuries. He’s also skilled in total joint replacement procedures, or arthroplasty.
Dr. Hurvitz is also passionate about orthopedic research and education, and his work has been published in several peer-reviewed journals.
Dr. Hurvitz has been studying in and serving the southern California community throughout his career. After graduating from the University of California at San Diego with a degree in Biology, he finished his medical degree at Saint Louis University in 1997. He returned to California to complete his residency in orthopedic surgery at Los Angeles County and the University of Southern California in 2002.
Dr. Hurvitz promotes health and rapid injury recovery outside of his clinical practice by serving as Team Physician for several high school and college varsity athletic programs, including UC Santa Barbara and Westmont College. He’s dedicated to serving the community as Chairman of the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at Cottage Hospital and Medical Director of Summit and Premier Surgery Centers in Santa Barbara, California. Dr. Hurvitz also serves as a surgeon consultant for Medacta and Lima Orthopedics.
