Jafar Kafaie, MD

Dr Howard Place evaluates and treats adults and children with injuries and deformities of the spine. As an orthopedic spine surgeon, he performs complex spinal reconstruction and treats traumatic spinal injuries. His research interests include spinal trauma, spinal infections and the impact of pelvic motion on the spine.
Dr Place is a professor in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, Division of Spinal Deformity and Reconstructive Spine Surgery at Saint Louis University School of Medicine. He is chair of the department.
Dr Place is a member of the Scoliosis Research Society. He participates in annual medical mission trips to Honduras and Malawi.
