The best grab and go lunch in Downtown St. Louis. Very friendly staff.

If you are looking for a quick, delicious bite to eat Savory Deli is the place to go. The menu is limited to sandwiches, salads and soups, but all three are amazing. I particularly enjoy the salads since I can choose from either romaine lettuce or mixed greens, along with an assortment of salad toppings including sun dried tomatoes, olives (not your standard green or black olives, but a brownish olive -- very tasty!!!), home-made croutons, broccoli, green peppers, eggs, etc. There are too many toppings to list. Also, their salad dressings are all pretty good - I personally prefer the sweet Vidalia onion and the balsamic vinaigrette.

Savory Deli also serves pretty good Panini sandwiches and has a nice selection of grab-and-go sandwiches and wraps. The soups are also very good.

They are open until 3:00, but after about 1:30 PM, things have been picked over, so I suggest getting there earlier than later. Everything is pretty fresh, so it?s not uncommon for them to run out of something. I'd rather have that situation than having weeks of ingredients that just sit around and go bad.

The staff is also extremely friendly and brings a smile to my face every time I eat there.

If you are in a hurry or are tired of paying over $10 for decent meal in downtown St. Louis and want to avoid the crowds, head down to Savory Deli at the corner of Broadway and Washington Ave. I promise you that you will not be disappointed.
