Overpriced and Underqualified

November 5, 2009:
I usually never do business with door-to-door people but Sam, the owner of Last Stop Roofing was driving by and saw that we were missing 3 shingles and offered a free estimate. Our house was only 8 years old but you'd think it was ancient given his take on the "damage" to the roof. "I can't beleive you're not getting water in your home" he said with urgency. He gave me a quote of $450 for materials and labor and led me to believe the damage was going to take quite a bit of work to fix. I gave him the downpayment for materials and needless to say, we should have gotten another quote because whhen he did finally show up ALONE two weeks later, he worked for around 25 minutes and then politely asked for the rest of his $450. When I asked him if they charge $1,000/hr he explained that I don't understand he had insurance to think of and he's saving me thousands in the long run. Think twice before using this company,

One year later...A real roofer was just here and said Last Stop didn't even use the materials they said they were getting. Just a hammer, nails and some glue. He charged $125.00 to replace 3 shingles. He also asked me if I did the work myself because it was so poorly done,
