In 1986, Dr. Wortman founded a private office dedicated to providing a full range of women's healthcare services in Rochester, NY which eventually became The Center for Menstrual Disorders and Reproductive Choice (CMDRC). The Center provides very important alternatives for women in New York State, and much of the northeastern United Sates. In addition to being a full-service gynecology practice open to new patients, The Center was founded to provide highly specialized care for women with a focus on the minimally invasive management of abnormal menstrual bleeding as well as compassionate and safe care for women seeking abortion services and specialized contraceptive options.

The Center is proudly accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care. Being accredited by AAAHC ensures that patient safety and welfare are our first priority. This allows us to offer treatments with IV conscious sedation in an office setting. Most procedures would otherwise be carried out in a hospital or ambulatory surgery setting.
