Apropos, Inc. Antiques & Interiors is located in the heart of Richmond, Virginia. Owned by Karen F. Austin, this one of a kind shop opened in May of 1981. For the last 25 years, Karen has been joined in the venture by antique enthusiast, Helen Brockwell. Together, the two discover, buy and sell a broad collection of antique furniture, accessories, and jewelry spanning the last two centuries. Apropos doesn’t deal in any one “type” of antiques since customers have varying tastes. They buy furniture and accessories from “vintage” to 18th century. The oldest item they have ever had the privilege of owning was a Gobelin Tapestry, circa 1790. Thanks to a lifetime of travel to other parts of the world, Apropos appreciates other cultures and the history each one brings.
