Roger Knutsen, M.D.

A South Dakota native, Dr. Knutsen found his passion for dermatology while attending medical school at the University of South Dakota's Sanford School of Medicine in Vermillion, S.D. He completed his residency at the Marshfield Clinic in Marshfield, WI, and then practiced dermatology at West River Dermatology in Rapid City until a partnership with Monument Health transpired in 2017. Dr. Knutsen's daughter, Siri Knutsen-Larson, M.D., joined his practice in 2017, expanding the Monument Health Dermatology team.

Areas of Expertise
Dr. Knutsen has expertise in medical dermatology, geriatric dermatology, connective tissue disease and surgical dermatology. He is also MOHS board certified and specializes in micrographic controlled surgery.

Outside the Clinic
When Dr. Knutsen isn’t caring for patients, he enjoys volunteering as a dermatologist at the Rapid City Community Health Center and enjoying the beautiful surroundings in the Black Hills, including bicycling, hiking, and spending time with family.
