Satellite Family Child Care, located in Madison, Wis., provides assistance to a variety of family and child care providers in the areas of quality standards, accreditation, training, referrals, support groups, equipment, newsletters and technical issues. The organization also provides referrals and education for parents and advocacy on issues that affect young children and their families. Satellite Family Child Care is a nonprofit program that supports nearly 100 family child care providers in the city and surrounding areas. Its consultants work with every client to maintain an environment to support the physical, social and intellectual development of children. The organization maintains a toy and equipment loan program, sponsors an annual child care conference and offers regular support groups for providers. It also offers respite care services and home visits by consultants.
