Dr. Thais A. Fortes, MD

Thais Fortes, M.D., is a Gynecologic Surgeon who specializes in management of breast diseases. She earned her medical degree from Universidade Federal do Piaui, Brazil. Dr. Fortes underwent Obstetrics and Gynecology residency and Breast Surgery fellowship in her home country prior to moving to the U.S.

Following her relocation, Dr. Fortes completed an Obstetrics and Gynecology residency at Sparrow Hospital – Michigan State University. After residency, she completed a Society of Surgical Oncology Breast Surgical Fellowship at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY.

Dr. Fortes is a passionate advocate for comprehensive wellness in women’s cancer care. She is a member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, the American Society of Breast Surgeons, and the Society of Surgical Oncology.
