Some of the world’s most famous have entrusted Jonathan Gording, OD, with their eye care needs. Through his private practice, Dr. Jonathan Gording Optometry, in West Los Angeles, California, he has supplied theatrical and special effects contact lenses, and his work has appeared in such beloved movies and series as “Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” Zombieland, “True Blood,” and Captain Marvel. However, movie star or not, everyone who walks into his practice on Westwood Boulevard receives the same special attention.
Dr. Gording is a graduate of Pennsylvania College of Optometry in Elkins Park. He is a third-generation optometrist. He went into private practice after nearly a decade working as a contact lens specialist at a large corneal specialty practice. 
Dr. Gording draws on his extensive experience in Hollywood to help patients with damaged and injured eyes. He designs prosthetic contact lenses that can hide extensive eye damage, restoring a patient’s appearance and self-esteem.
Dr. Gording is an expert in contact lenses for “hard-to-fit” eyes. In addition to his customized prosthetic work, he helps patients with keratoconus and other conditions that affect the shape of the eye to see clearly again. He also provides Ortho-K, overnight contacts that reshape the cornea and can slow the progression of myopia and address astigmatism.
At his practice, Dr. Gording takes a pragmatic, conservative approach to treating eye conditions. He screens for glaucoma, retinal conditions, cataracts, and other common eye conditions at eye exams and closely monitors patients’ eye health. When necessary, he prescribes medication for eye infections, glaucoma, injuries, and other ocular conditions. It’s his goal for each patient to receive exactly the right care at the right time. He also has a variety of eyeglass lenses and frames available that can fit anyone’s personal style and eye care needs.
In addition to his private practice, Dr. Gording serves as the director of optometry services at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. He belongs to the American Optometric Association and California Optometric Association.
