In November of 2012 we contacted Star Roofing to repair the roof over the bathroom in a house we had just bought. He was six and a half hours late to preform his job. He was not very motivated to finish or start the job. ( He stood around and smoked cigarettes with my new neighbor.) He was very unprofessional. ( For example he brought his significant other with him to be his assistant and they were in sweat cloths not a proper uniform). After he finished the job he said he needed paid in cash (300 dollars). He claimed that he forgot his receipt book. I then asked for a business card, he didn't happen to have on him one of those either. So his significant other wrote their information on a posted note, but must have forgot to write paid beside the dollar amount. I asked that he mail me a receipt but have not received it as of 1/30/2013.He said he put rolled roofing on the roof and that it shouldn't leak for at least 3 years. If I had any problems with it he would return to fix it immediately . We had discussed that I wanted a rubber roof put on the entire house in the spring/summer of 2013. Less than forty five days after his work the roof is leaking again. I have a puddle in the middle of my kitchen floor. ( The kitchen is below the bathroom which has no flooring, tub, toilet, etc.. It is being remodeled).I have called fourteen days in a row, without receiving a returned call. I spoke to the state police and district magistrate. I then called and left a message saying I would like to resolve this without having to go to court. He has yet to return that call.
