Dr. Jorge Diaz is a native of Peru and received his medical degree in 2004 from Cayetano Heredia University, School of Medicine, in Lima, Peru. He completed his Internal Medicine residency at the University of Alabama Birmingham followed by a fellowship in Hematology and Oncology at the University of Louisville, where he was Chief Fellow. He was an Assistant Professor at UAB School of Medicine and Chief Medical Resident.
Dr. Diaz is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He was the recipient of the Best Internal Medicine Faculty Award at UAB, Family Medicine in 2013 and 2014, as well as the Tinsely Harrison Resident of the Year Award in 2011. Dr. Diaz is a member of the American College of Physicians, the American Society of Clinical Oncology, and the American Society of Hematology.
