Alfred Sofer, MD

Alfred Sofer, MD, specializes in plastic surgery from his offices in Fairfield, Connecticut, and White Plains, New York. Dr. Sofer loves his work and takes pride in seeing how delighted his patients are with their results. He’s driven by a passion for quality and strives to provide the best experience for every one of his patients.

Dr. Sofer has extensive medical education. He completed his undergraduate studies at Columbia University in New York City in 1986 and received his medical degree from Albany Medical College in New York in 1993. He then completed an internship and a residency in general surgery at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, New York, where he had the honor of being surgical chief resident.

After his residency, Dr. Sofer moved away from New York to continue his training in plastic and reconstructive surgery with a fellowship at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. Shortly after, world-renowned surgeon Christine M. Kleinert, MD, selected him for a fellowship in microvascular and hand surgery at the prestigious Kleinert Institute in Louisville, Kentucky.

Today, Dr. Sofer is one of the most in-demand surgeons. He was previously the chief of plastic surgery at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport, Connecticut, and previously served on the board of directors at the Surgical Center of Connecticut, also in Bridgeport. He has won multiple awards for his cosmetic surgery work and is well known within the industry for his technical skill and creativity. 

Dr. Sofer is board-certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. He’s an active member of both the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and the American College of Surgeons.

In his free time, Dr. Sofer volunteers with Operation Smile. This international charity organization provides medical treatment to young adults and children living with facial deformities.
