Joan Oppenheim, Psy.D.

My name is Dr. Oppenheim, and I’m the owner of Joan Oppenheim, PsyD, LLC, a standout practice offering superior services for those aged 12 and older, helping patients in Westport, Connecticut, and the surrounding area.

I embarked on my educational journey by attaining a bachelor’s degree from Yale College, the undergraduate branch of Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut. I then continued my academic pursuit by earning a master’s degree in developmental psychology from Teachers College, Columbia University in New York, New York.

My path led me to the Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology, a division of Yeshiva University, and the Albert Einstein School of Medicine in the Bronx, New York, where I received my Doctor of Psychology. 

I underwent further training through a postdoctoral fellowship program at the Child Guidance Center of Southern Connecticut. I also hold memberships in esteemed professional bodies, such as the American Psychological Association.

My practice is dedicated to working with adults, children, adolescents, couples, and families, helping them make and experience essential changes to enhance their quality of life.

My wealth of expertise empowers patients with solution-focused approaches, including individual therapy, guiding them through challenging situations and relationships within a warm, constructive, and confidential environment that restores balance in their lives.

At my practice, patients can find hope with services offered, such as therapy for individuals, couples, or those who have experienced a divorce. I also specialize in parental education to address issues concerning children. In addition, I excel in treating depression and providing psychological and psychoeducational assessments.
