Over the last three decades, Dr. Robert Shwayder has contributed to the growth of expertise in Obstetric and Gynecological care across Hampton Roads and the Virginia Peninsula. Dr. Shwayder participated in the country's first protocol laboratories in the research, development and implementation of ultrasound in the field of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Post-residency, Dr. Shwayder gained further training and credentialing in advanced ultrasound and surgical procedures. Early in his career, Dr. Shwayder introduced multiple OB/GYN practices and procedures to Hampton Roads and Mary Immaculate Hospital. Dr. Shwayder has completed over 50,000 OB/GYN ultrasound studies, gained over 27,000 hours of experience in ultrasound and has accumulated over 25,000 hours in minimally invasive surgical procedures.
