Daniel Opheim, MD

Daniel Opheim, MD, joined The Iowa Clinic Colorectal Surgery Department in 2022 and chose the Clinic because he wanted to work alongside a physician group that has a collective mission to provide the best possible care for its patients.

He chose to specialize in colorectal surgery because colorectal disorders are unfortunately very common in our society, and he felt it would allow him to make a positive impact on many lives. He enjoys all aspects that colorectal surgery has to offer but is most interested in robotics, minimally invasive surgery, and endoscopy procedures. The most rewarding part of his job is when he is can offer a solution to a patient’s diagnosis or health issue - and the patient is able to make a full recovery.
