Watsonville Coast Produce is a wholesale produce company based in Watsonville, Calif., with more than 20 trucks dispatched throughout 11 counties in central and northern California. Founded in 1974 in the Pajaro Valley, the company expanded to a 44,000-square-foot warehouse in March 1999. The facility has nearly 450,000 cubic feet of refrigerated space, enough for almost 700 pallets of fruit and vegetables. It also has five different computer-controlled coolers, which allows for proper temperature and humidity control. Watsonville Coast Produce has a state-of-the-art, tarpless banana ripening room. The company has nearly 100 employees and a sales staff available more than 70 hours per week.
