Eugene Ryan, MD

Dr. Ryan is originally from Columbus, Georgia, where he developed a number of interests and ideas about what he wanted to do when he grew up. His mother, a nurse, helped foster his interest in healthcare. After earning a Doctorate in Pharmacy from the University of Georgia, he began training for his medical degree at the Medical College of Georgia. He received his M.D. and completed his residency at the Eisenhower Army Medical Center. Dr. Ryan was recruited to Parkridge in 1996 from his post as chief of medicine and flight surgeon at the U.S. Army Aero medical Center in Ft. Rucker. (Pilots take note: Dr. Ryan maintains his certification as an FAA Aviation Medical examiner, capable of providing Class 2 and 3 flight physicals.)

As a physician, Dr. Ryan notes that the most rewarding part of his job is talking with patients and helping them to improve their overall well-being. When he's not practicing medicine, Dr. Ryan enjoys spending time with his wife and four children.
