James Benner, MD

James Benner, MD, specializes in cardiac (heart), thoracic (lung) and vascular (blood vessel) repair work.
Dr. Benner attended medical school at Temple University in Philadelphia, Pa. He completed his general surgery residency at the University of South Carolina, RMH in Columbia, and thoracic surgery residencies at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta and the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, S.C.
He is board certified in cardiac, vascular and thoracic surgery.

Dr. Benner also enjoys sharing his work with his six children who have grown up visiting his practice. In his spare time, he is an avid cyclist and is a South Carolina state master's cycling champion.
